Q. What is the system requirements to run the Helpdesk Module?
A. Server Requirements
The Helpdesk Module has been developed to run exclusively on web sites hosted on Windows Servers with Internet Information Server 5.0 or higher and ASP 3.0 Installed. No other Platforms are supported.

Database Requirements
The Helpdesk Module supports Microsoft Access database. You don't need to own a license of MS Access in order to use the access database. Also, we provide the SQL Server database generation script for SQL Server 2000\2005 along with instructions to connect to it. If you don't have SQL Server 2000, you can use MSDE 2000 which is a scaled down version of SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server Express 2005 both free from Microsoft's web site.

Components
This application supports a 3rd party component to send auto emails : CDONTS, ASPMail, ASPEmail.

Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher on a windows based PC is required to use full features and system administration.

Q. Is the source code of the Helpdesk module provided, or its a hosted application?
A. Sure, The Helpdesk Module comes complete with the source code and it runs under your own domain and site. You don't have to pay any recurring fees or rely on a 3rd party company to maintain your Helpdesk on your site. No additional software, or monthly payments is required and it comes packed with everything you need to provide a fully accessible and easy to use Helpdesk system on your web site.

Q. When I order, do I get access to the FULL package online?
A. You bet! You will immediately receive a password to log in and download the code, watch the videos, listen to the audios and print out the PDF documents. Instant access, 24/7.

Q. Why you choose ASP 3.0 as a development language over other languages for the Helpdesk Module?
A. Currently, there are many development languages with nice features, for instance PHP, CFM, JSP, and .NET are all powerful development languages, as good as ASP 3. Hardware is getting cheaper too, having a 4 CPU server is now more affordable than ever. There are allot of debates going on wither to upgrade ASP based applications to .NET but for us, we honestly see no great advantage in doing so. As you can see for yourself that many sites are still not making the shift to .NET (domain registrar godaddy.com, is still running on ASP, even Microsoft's official website has many sections still written in ASP). We tend to focus more on the flexibility and the reliability of the application, rather than on what platform it's running on. Many ASP based sites reportedly handles huge amounts of traffic and data exchanges just fine (over three thousand unique visitors per day is the norm). However, if a customer requires us to develop a .NET version of the suite, we are more than happy to help, as a separate contract.

Q. I really want to get your Helpdesk Module, but I'm not having allot of users looking for support yet, should I wait?
A. You certainly could, but it would be smarter to be prepared when your users' problems increase due to a new hardware\software purchase or upgrade. It's best to begin getting familiar with the software as well as for them and then you can implement the "support ticket concept" for either high or low volume requests.

Q. How long has Ready Web Projects been available and how many people are using it?
A. The Ready Web Projects suite of software has been available for over three years and is now being used by thousands of people worldwide.

Q. How is The Helpdesk Module different from all the other helpdesk and customer support software?
A. It's completely different because it addresses the hidden roadblocks that hold you back from using the Helpdesk software effectively. Apart from powerful features and bug free code. It gives you a new approach backed by case studies, specific action steps and tools that lets you apply our software for your gain and get you results.

Q. Is there is a limit on the number of technicians and users?
A. Nope, you can create unlimited users to operate the Helpdesk. Each user can handle an unlimited number of tickets.

Q. Helpdesk and Data Collection forms has been around for years, what makes your Helpdesk Module any different?
A. Yes, data collection forms has been around for a while, but they've mostly been used for sending information by e-mail to a certain address, or store it in a text file or a database. Using The Helpdesk Module  as a pure customer support tool has not worked well for many businesses because they assume there is only 1 or 2 support representative to handle low volume work. The Helpdesk Module is built to handle allot of tickets, by routing it to different support representatives through out its life-cycle, notifying the ticket creator of any update by e-mail, and by taking note on each action taken. It will greatly help you improve the process of customer support, by managing each ticket as a case-based manner. If you are looking for a simple data-collection form that sends an e-mail, and nothing more. Probably the Helpdesk module isn't for you, we have provided a data-collection form that sends an e-mail to your inbox at no cost in the downloads section.

Q. How soon can I expect to see results?
A. Many clients report that they start begin to see a much better experience of support requests, as early as a day or two after they go live on their website with the Helpdesk Module. Once they start handling all the tickets in one system, they begin to see what areas their product\ service is causing problems and what needs more improvement.

Q. How easy is it to install?
A. The installation process is very easy and is explained in full detail in the user manual. Basically all you need to do is to unzip and upload some files to the web server (BY FTP) and update the database connection string by modifying a single line of code in a text file.

Q. My Web Host is Linux and I have a MySQL database, will that work?
A. Unfortunately no. This application has been developed to run exclusively on a Windows Based Server using MS-Access or SQL Server as the database. No other platforms are supported.

Q. I have a question not answered here.
A. No Problem, Just use our technical support form and send your question to us. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
